Welcome to the Granite State Chapter of APICS

The Granite State Chapter of APICS is located on the New Hampshire seacoast.

We represent members from many diverse businesses around the seacoast area including southern Maine and northern Massachusetts along the New Hampshire borders. At present, the Granite State Chapter has approximately 90 members in

50 different companies. The Granite State Chapter also supports an affiliate student chapter at the University of New Hampshire.

We offer education in the APICS disciplines associated with Supply Chain Management and Integrated Resource Management or we partner with educational institutions

that do provide the necessary educational classes. APICS educational offerings

support Certification in Production and Inventory Management, CPIM, or Certification in Integrated Resource Management, CIRM. Please visit our educational page.

Message from the President

Welcome everyone to a new chapter year.

I’d like to thank Nick Bogan, last year’s president, for a job well done. We submitted our Chapter Minimum Standards paperwork for Society’s awards program and passed all items on the list. We’d like to recognize last year’s Board for their support.

We’ve got an exciting line up for you this fall. We’ll start off September with Judy Ringer a well known speaker who will present “Managing Conflict with Power and Presence”; in October we’ll have Dr. Hans Baumann who will speak on “Outsourcing, Trade Deficit, and Inflation”; then in November we’re planning our first plant tour at Disetronic’s in Portsmouth. As usual, Dick Clough is lining up an excellent format for this year. Don’t hesitate to send Dick your suggestions for speakers or plant tours.

I’d like to acknowledge the returning Board members for their volunteer efforts and their dedication to the APICS body of knowledge and principles. These members include, Chris Carr, Dick Clough, Juliana Hill, John Henson, Nick Bogan, and Ann Yenchick. Next I’d like to recognize our new Board members this year: Kevin Burnell, Lisa Hayes, Lars Anderson, Doug Henderson, and Dennis Yates.

Finally I’d like to encourage everyone to attend several meetings and/or plant tours this year. We’ve got a fine line up for you with Professional Development Meetings, Plant Tours, another one-day Seminar, and a special end of year activity that’s still in the planning stages. This year’s one-day seminar will be on Lean Accounting which we’ll co-sponsor with the New Hampshire Institute of Management Accountants.

You can show your support to the Board’s volunteer efforts by attending several of the chapter’s offerings, by providing feedback as to whether we are meeting your needs, by encouraging your peers to join the chapter, or by volunteering to assist the board.

This will be an exciting year. Our PDM meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at NHCTC and our website will have the latest info for you at www.apics85.org. We encourage you to join us and as always let us know what you think. You can contact me any time at erlnh@comcast.net.
